Elijah and the Still Small Voice

Elijah was tired and afraid, hiding in a cave. A great wind tore the mountain, but God was not in the wind. Then an earthquake, but God was not in the earthquake. Then a fire, but God was not in the fire. After the fire came a still small voice — and Elijah knew it was God.

Key verse
And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
1 Kings 19:12 (KJV)

What it teaches

God is often quiet. We can be still and listen.

Talk about it together

  1. What came before the still small voice?
  2. Why do you think God whispered?
  3. Where is a quiet place you can pray?
